Invite-Only Groups
Members join a specific group through invitation rather than an open public “join any stokvel” flow.
KEW Stokvels
The KEW stokvel concept is built around private, invite-only groups with a shared purpose, clear constitutions, member participation and transparent governance.
Core principles
The KEW concept starts with the familiar idea of people organising around a common purpose, then adds clearer digital structure around membership, rules, governance and participation.
Members join a specific group through invitation rather than an open public “join any stokvel” flow.
The group’s purpose, membership rules, contribution structure, governance and other agreed rules are defined before participation begins.
The group remains member-led, with participation and decision rights governed by the group’s agreed rules.
A future digital model can make onboarding, identity checks, participation history and group records clearer and easier to follow.
The planned model includes clearer records of group activity, member participation, approvals and statements.
The goal is to support organised group participation while keeping the group’s savings and KEW’s own revenue clearly separated.
Planned member journey
The current KEW prototype demonstrates a controlled onboarding path for members of a specific stokvel group.
A specific group invites the member through the agreed onboarding pathway.
The invited person confirms that they want to participate in that group.
The required identity and onboarding checks are completed before financial participation can begin.
The member reviews and accepts the group rules that govern participation.
Membership is confirmed according to the group’s governance process where approval is required.
Once onboarding is complete, the member can enter the planned private stokvel environment within KasiTree.
The constitution
A constitution is central to the planned KEW stokvel model. It gives members a shared reference for how their group operates and how decisions are made.
The exact rules differ by group, but the constitution can define the purpose of the group, who may join, contribution schedules, payment dates, grace periods, approvals, voting and other agreed participation rules.
Governance & separation
A key design safeguard is keeping member savings and group funds separate from KEW’s normal operating revenue.
The group operates according to its accepted constitution and agreed governance process.
Member savings should not be silently treated as KEW income or mixed into normal operating funds.
Any live financial implementation must use the appropriate approved infrastructure and pass the required legal and provider validation before launch.
Stokvels inside KasiTree
This public page explains the concept. The actual group environment is planned as a private area inside KasiTree for invited members who have completed the required onboarding.
Public visitors can learn how the KEW stokvel concept works. Private group records, governance, contribution activity and member information belong inside the secured member environment, not on the public website.
Contact KEW for information about the planned invite-only group model. This website does not accept stokvel contributions.
